We left Munich to travel to Salzburg on the train.
We arrived in Salzburg around 9:30am and walked to our hotel.
Unfortunately John was unwell and he had to stay at the hotel & rest.
Peter, Silvia & I travelled via tram to our first attraction, Hohensalzburg Fortress. It was very cold, I think about -4 degrees.
On the way we stopped briefly at th Christmas Markets. There is so many beautiful Christmas ornaments there, I just wanted to buy everything & ship it home!
To get to the Fortress you have to travel on the funculator???.
We completed an audio tour of the fortress and got to hear an organ play.
It seems you normally don’t get to hear the organ but there was a documentary being filmed at the time we were there.
Apparently there are great views of Salzburg from the top of the fortress but it was very foggy so we couldn’t see anything.
