We flew out of Hawaii at some ungodly hour! Had to get up at like 3:30am in order to drop the car off by 5am.
Of course Kylie left her nice new expensive jacket in the hire car. Luckily Kylie realised before we went through security and the nice people from Alamo arranged for the jacket to be delivered by the next shuttle bus (it pays to have some extra time up your sleeves for unexpected events!)
We flew United Airlines to San Franciso (5hr flight). That was an experience. No entertainment unless you paid for it, although you got a snack, something so sugary sweet because that’s what you want to eat at 8am in the morning!
We landed in San Franciso and had 6hrs until our flight to Munich.
Peter wanted to go to Fisherman’s Wharf. We caught the train into the city but after speaking to some locals it would have taken another 45mins to walk or we had to get some other form of transport to Fisherman’s Wharf so we didn’t bother. Right where we were was a restored port or pier where they had a whole heap of food shops.
We ate empanada’s and had coffee and cheesecake.
The change in temperature from Hawaii, which was around 25 degrees, to San Franciso, which was about 11 degrees, was a bit of a shock to the system!
We boarded our flight to Munich. We flew Lufthansa, which we have never flown before. If you are going to fly for 11hrs then this is one of the airlines you want to fly! The service was great!
