Today we take in the sights of the city with the hop on hop off bus that we would recommend to anyone as we can spend as little or as much time as we like anywhere with 4 different buses in different directions along with information and commentary. We head to the furthest point and make our way back. Considering that this city is only about 50 years old there is so much of it. Nothing old, dirty or historic here, it just hasn’t had time its so shiny and new like a Christmas present. They are in love with building mall of all different themes (whats a mall without a snow park or Aquarium, right? ).

Then there is the famous sail building on the tide of the desert.

And then to be outdone by the outrageous palm complex of mansions shaped like the fronds spreading into the sea.

Naturally at the head of this estate is a palatial (you guessed it) mall. The Sheiks here really do look after their own people with free schooling to university, health care etc. Locals also get a bonus car when you purchase a new home. I am talking of a BMW for the moderate home owner to a Lamborghini for the sea side dweller. To contrast this wealth we went to a fort museum to view the traditional life of the nomads still living this way in the desert. As it had turned to night we stopped off lastly at the gold Souks where every design, shade and degree of opulence was on display. It was quite breathtaking but realistically who wears that sort of thing? Hoo Roo
