Day 3 – Peter & Kylie – Manoa Falls

December 17, 2016January 1, 2017 By admin

Our last stop for the day was Manoa Falls, which we thought was going to be an easy walk! Not!

The trail was more elevated than we anticipated and quite muddy which made it very slippery, so we had to be extra careful! The humidity was quite high so we were very hot by the time we got to the Falls.

Apparently some part of the Jurassic Park movie was filmed here and the TV series Lost, which doesn’t surprise me as it was quite tropical (the trees were so tall you could imagine dinosaurs walking through them).

The waterfall is a vertical drop of approximately 46 meters to a small pool below. You are not supposed to swim in the pool but of course some people were.

Note: Although it’s free to walk up to the Falls you have to pay $5 for parking if you have a car.
