Day 2 – Silvia & John – Dubai

December 16, 2016January 8, 2017 By Silvia Rath

The contrast between old and new in this city is astounding .Their new is very new, tall and shiny and the old is not so old but is made from anything they can get from the desert or sea. The wall from the fort consists of shells and coral with enough holes tnat the swallows had their nests in it. The palm frond houses were quite cool but the beautiful furniture was cooler. I feel sorry for the poor camels that had to carry them. We wondered around the souks (markets), the textiles, spice and gold regions. They were not so old, original or market like but they still love to pull you in and haggle. We could only take so much of it until we had to run away and blend into the crowd(ha ha). Bye for now Hoo Roo .

Here in the middle of the desert what else do you expect to see? O course ! its the miracle gardens. A land in abundance except for water has a gigantic garden in the middle of it. There is a whole garden village and Disney land flower-scape. Along with a plane, giant peacocks and waterfalls you walk through heart shaped avenues and castle walls. It is stunning in so many ways but so Hollywood. Enjoy the pics. Hoo Roo
